Today, I will do a tutorial for making two pretty 3d background rakshabandhan cards
using @craftyscrappers

PREMIUM WHITE CARDSTOCK

WHITE finalBLENDING_560x768.jpg

Which is around 200GSM  in thickness,Double Coated- Mat Finish. And is ideal for stamping,Embossing, or Distressing. it Blends so well when using markers or watercolor pens for coloring. It has a Smooth surface allowing for blending and water coloring and the best part is this premium card stock an be used for making paper flower and it is so sturdy which helps in making Card bases.

I will also be using @craftyscrappers newly launched stencils,

2-IN-1 3D DESIGNS”HEXAGON PATTERN” stencil

cs-stnl-37-2IN1-HEXAGON PATTERNS].jpg

Which are unique in its own way. They help you create endless patterns, you can twist and turn to create your patterns accordingly or just lay them on top of each other to create some really interesting 3D patterns. i just love it 🙂

And along with the beautiful 3d stencil i have also used the versatile and one of my favorite stamp set among the so many other stamp sets that @craftyscrappers have,

NO#1:BRO & SIS

st-fest-51no-1bro&sis].jpg

This is an amazing stamp set, the focal images on this stamp set are just so pretty…
The boy with the best brother stash and the girl with the best sister stash,.. its just so
beautiful. @craftyscrappers has a wide collection of gorgeously hand illustrated stampsets to choose from which are so versatile to use and pocket friendly.

so without further ado, lets start with the step by step tutorial….

Heres the final look of my cards:

Untitled-1.png

step1.png

I used Craftyscrappers premium white cardstock and  3D 2-IN-1DESIGN- hexagon stencil ( It contains 2 pieces of stencils) for the background of my card.

IMG_20180803_174613.jpg

step2.png

I placed the First stencil over the cardstock and blended with yellow ink.
IMG_20180803_174628.jpg
step3.png
After that i placed the second stencil over the previously yellow stenciled background and blended with orange ink.
IMG_20180803_174742.jpg
This is how it looks once the orange ink is applied over the previously stenciled background.
IMG_20180803_174932.jpg
step4
I wanted to create a 3d look so I again placed the second stencil and applied some yellow ink and got a really  beautiful 3D background.
IMG_20180803_175059.jpg
Check this out, such a pretty 3d design….
IMG_20180805_145609.jpg
step5
Next i kept the background for my card aside, and started working
on the front of the card.
I stamped the sentiment ‘because i have a sister i’ll always have a friend‘ sentiment from the stampset  No#1 bro and sis on a panel of white cardstock and used flower and leaf die cuts and adhered all the elements on stencilled background.
card1.jpg
step6
I was carried away with the beautiful 3D 2-IN-1 HEXAGON PATTERNS stencil that i created another card in the shades of blue.
For the second card i used shades of blue inks and went with the same procedure
( light color first then dark and again light)
Here is how my second card looks:

Here is closer look at both of my cards:

PRETTY BACKGROUND RAKHI CARD-DT ANJALI SHARMA

Hi crafty folks,

This is Anjali Creative designer @craftyscrappers and today I am here
with a start to dinish video tutorial on how you can create your own
pretty background rakhi card.

Since Rakshabandhan is just around the corner and we all know how the whole ceremony of tying Rakhis can be monotonous. Not to forget the ritual of gorging on sweets (Ok! this is probably the best part). But we’re sure that the extreme love-hate relationship you share with your siblings deserves something extra.
So i decided to do a rakhi card to celebrate the bond of love between the brother’s and sisters.

Today, I will do a tutorial for making a pretty envelope using

2-IN-1 3D DESIGNS”Diamond Pattern” stencil

cs-stnl-352IN1-DIAMOND PATTERNS].jpg

This stencil is so versatile and easy to use!

You can flip it and create all the more patterns..no set rule..just get your inks/pastes/colours and let your imagination do some amazing stencilling! 😉

and “Super Silblings” stamp set from Craftyscrappers.

So here’s my Finished RAKHI ENVELOPE

SUPPLIES USED:

IMG_20180807_164209.jpg

Untitled-1.png
step1.png

Take a white coloured envelope.

IMG_20180805_104952__01.jpg

step2.png

Tape it down onto your craftsheet with the help of the masking tape (This is done to ensure that the envelope stays in it’s place and doesn’t ruin the positioning of the stencil.

IMG_20180805_110643__01.jpg

step3.png

Place the Horizontal Diamond stencil pattern and put Fired Brick Distress Oxide through it.

IMG_20180806_164422.jpg

step4

Now take the other part of t stencil, the one with diagonal diamond pattern and place it on the envelope.

IMG_20180806_165033.jpg

step5

I wanted to have overlapping shades so I have overlapped the stencil.Use Spiced Mermalade Distress ink through it.Now comes the fun part…just flip the diaognal diamond pattern stencil, overlap it on to the Red inkes patyern and put Fossiled Amber distress ink through it.

IMG_20180806_164714.jpg

Similarly, flip the horizontal diamond pattern stencil design and put Evergreen Bough distress ink through it.
You have a traditional-yet-modern looking envelope ready! 😀

step6

Take the sentiments from the “Super siblings” stamp set, stamp it with Black archival ink on White cardstock from Craftyscrappers, fussy cut it and spray it with the “Sweet Sunshine” Shimmer spray…this spray just pops the sentiment and gives life to it..I absolutely loveeee it!

IMG_20180806_170516__01.jpg

Possible image 1

And thus finishes the envelope

20180723_115111.jpg

Untitled-1.png

step1.png
I have primed the surface with 2 coats of white gesso and have covered the inside with a masking tape so i need not be worried about getting the paint on the photo area.

Have spread white crackle paint randomly using the pallete knife.

20180721_191150.jpg

step2.png
This is the fun part,i prepared some stamped images to make some elements for my frame.choose this flowery stamp have used a black dye ink to stamp my images. To make the mirror image of this flower I stamped the image on to the mirror stamp set from craftyscrappers and then placed a card stock over the mirror stamp and slowly pressed down and the image was transferred  and i had a mirror image, this was a super fun technique.

20180719_122855.jpg

step3.png

U see the mirror image is light,i am no expert in stamping..so please excuse me and i wasnt too worried i just used a black marker pen to darken the lines. Then colored these images using some color pencils and fussy cut them.

20180719_123122.jpg

20180720_140740.jpg

step4

Now it is time to color my frame,i have used Craftyscrappers Chalk paints-Dreamy orangepeelSweet-tea rosecreamy banana
and Lushy orchid shimmer spray to color.
I have diluted these chalk paints with little water and kept adding layers of thiese colors, drying them inbetween each layer of paint. till i was happy with the shades.
And finally added a flower , fussy cut elements ,thread.to add some interest have used some pollens and  Briadal dress shaker elements from craftyscrappers and I was done with my frame.

So here’s my Finished project

IMG_20180728_170332334.jpg

STEPBY STEP TUT.png

step1.png

I took 10 inch circle shaped MDF board, and prime it using gesso, but instead of using brush, i used palate knife to apply gesso, this way will have texture on the surface, it is the best way to create texture on any surface easily, Next I pasted Skewer Sticks, Backings of canvas and some other wooden embellishments,

this is how it looks :

IMG_20180727_094221956.jpg

step2.png

Further I added some more embellishments like Mini Metal gears, Wooden keys, Pebbles & flat back pearls, Then I covered everything using gesso again.

IMG_20180727_095417070.jpg

step3.png

After everything dries completely. I colored entire project using Craftyscrappers shimmer sprays named “Ocean waves“, “Sweet sunshine“, “Rusty Denim“, “Lushy orchid” after I finish the spraying before it gets dried I tilted the project little bit so this way all the color flew & blend into each other nicely .. these sprays are so amazing that it goes on any surface as you can see here.

step4

I stamped the image from stamp set called “Feathers” and colored the image using acrylic paints. I Just love this stamp set and its perfect focal point for any mixed media project or even cards.

IMG_20180728_153942879.jpg

step5

I added image to the project and to lift the image bit upwards I glue down some cardboard pieces behind the image and paste that on project, you can used double sided foam tape for this process too, And to give more shimmer and sparkle I apply Shimmer paint metallic lustre “Bronze” using dry brush technique, and voila!! this is final & glorious look of the finished Project.
