Coming back to today’s tutorial now….
We often give out gifts to kids for birthdays or even as birthday return gifts.
How about making environment-friendly treat bags to give these gifts.
A step-by-step pictorial guiding you in making your own treat bags.
so lets begin…
I took an A4 size paper.
(The paper size would depend on the size of your gift.)
Folded half-inch margin at one edge.
Folded the remaining paper into half.
Folded /Scored half an inch at the one end of this folded paper
and one and a half inch at the other end.
Opened the sheet and cut the marked parts.
On cutting/trimming the marked parts, you get a sheet with scored sides.
I took Archival ink and my favorite stamp sets.
I took two images from the stamp set and stamped the images randomly all over the sheet (rotating the image randomly) Let the ink dry before the next step.
HOGS AND KISSES
Here, I have used different colored papers to make the treat bags. You can also use a white sheet and lightly color these stamped images.
Once the ink dried, I adhered the adhesive tape to the two margins on the sheet. Peeled open the tape and assembled the treat bag by bringing in the sides together. The one and a half inch margin remain open as it is the lid/cover of the treat bag. Repeated the process with all the three bags.
And the treat bags are ready….
To decorate the treat bags….
On a watercolor card-stock, I stamped the critters from the Hogs and Kisses stamp set, using Archival ink. Colored the critters with zig markers and fussy cut them.
Cut tags from scrap pieces of CS.
Assemble the tag using the fussy-cut critters and the sentiments.
Now fill the treat bags, tie a ribbon/twine around it to close it.
Tie the tag along with the ribbon/twine.
Here are all the finished treat bags.

Now.. lets talk a little about the supplies that i have used.
these fun foils are super shiny and are of professional grade .
They work well with any lamination machine available,
if you want to heat transfer using these super shiny foils or
they can also be used with Big shot and Cuttlebug machines, where you do not need heat to transfer the foils… which is great!!! since many of us do not have lamination machines at home, Craftyscrappers also have launched, the fun foil glue, that works perfectly with these fun foils. They come in 16 gorgeous colors to chose from as well.
Then i also used the amazing and one of a kind shimmer paste, that stand out from the rest of the products in the market.
The shimmer pastes that i used for the projects are
These shimmer pastes add a fabulous layer of shimmer and shine to any craft project and you can use any kind of stencils with these shimmer paste to create beautiful sparkling details and add the touch of beauty to any card, scrapbook or mixed media.
The best thing about them is that these can be used on paper, cardboard, chipboard, acetate, wood, glass, mdf, fabric and even on layered stencils.
These shimmer paste r so smooth and so shiny… that i love to work with it and the results are super-duper awesome.
To create my artwork. i have also used the shimmer sprays.
The shimmer sprays that i have used for my projects are :
The colors of these shimmer sprays are so intense and beautiful that you will fall in love with it.
Here’s a look at the completed tag and card:
So lets begin with the tutorial…
So this is my First project, which a shabby chic card:
A BRIEF TUTORIAL ON SHABBY CHIC CARD:
First, i took a white card stock and then i stuck brown pattern paper with the help of crafty glue that was send in my dt kit. After that i applied another white pattern paper on the brown card stock, to create layers. after that i placed the Peacock feathers stencil over my working area and secured it with the help of the masking tape.then applied the beautiful.. shimmer paste on it. The shimmer paste that i have used here is called- TICKLED and added some more pattern paper and shimmer paper on top of it.Then I decorate my card with some mulberry flowers and charms and applied some glitter glue on both the sides of the card. And thus finished with my shabBy chic card.
here are some close-ups:
Here’s my second project, which is a tag…
A BRIEF TUTORIAL ON SHABBY CHIC CARD:
First i took a plain white tag and distressed it with two inks. After that i placed the peacock feather stencil on it with the help of masking tape and then i sprayed grape juice shimmer spray on the half part of the tag and let it dry.
Once dried i sprayed sweet pumpkin shimmer spray on the rest of the tag. Once everything was dried, i applied the shimmer paste “butter” on the top and the bottom of the tag.
after that i applied double side tape on the sides of the tag and used the fun foil with the tape and rubbed it smoothly.
Finally i removed the left over foil sheet and i was done.
it looked so amazing and beautiful!!! Lastly i applied some mulberry flowers and stones in the center of the tag and finally i took a die cut and stamp a sentiment on it and placed it on the tag with the help of a foam tape.
here are some close-ups:
I really love working with craftyscrappers products, they have a wonderful collection of products at a very reasonable rate.
Next I picked an orange card from the cards set again from the store,
these have bright shades to choose from and are thick enough to handle layers and other mediums.
Isn’t it looking pretty? I loved the outcome on acetate.
I decided to make a window on the card to fit the acetate sheet, so cut out a rectangular piece out of the card.
Added the acetate to the cut out using both sided tape from the back side.
Next sprayed Shimmer Spray –“Sweet Sunshine” on a piece of pattern paper.
I must say these sprays are so perfect, they spread beautifully and just little is needed to spray; they give nice intense color.
This is the first time I’ve used foil in my cards and I really love the outcome…..
Craftyscrappers shiny transfer foils are professional grade and are proudly made in INDIA, and these super glitzy foils , add Stunning Sparkle and shine to your craft projects.
What stopped me till now was the investment in laminator machine for foiling…. But these fun foils are really fun to work with. You don’t need any fancy tools for this..
They can be used with a lamination machine and also work like a charm with Big shot and Cuttlebug machines, where you do not need heat to transfer the foils to your craft surfaces.
So Let’s see what I came up with…
These are three cards i made using the fabulous supplies from Craftyscrappers.
So let me quickly share the supplies i used to create these fun cards…
I took A2 size white card stock and placed Rose Bunch Stencilover it and secured it with masking tape.
Then, I applied crafty glue over it evenly with sponge and removed the stencil carefully.(craftyscrappers also have fun-foil glue that works perfectly with the transfer foils.)
After that I placed Sizzling Silver Foilover it and pressed it first with my hands and then by passing it through the big shot.
Remove the extra foil….
Now,your foiled background is ready to play with.
I am back again on Craftyscrappers blog with my new mixed media project.
This one is a business name plate which I did recently for a friend
who is into Saree business.
I have used the super amazing and gorgeous products from Craftyscrappers which is launched recently in the name of “Shimmer sprays and Shimmer Pastes”…
I totally loved using them, before I talk more on the versatility of these products,
let me show you some of the pictures of my project first.
Here’s the complete Business name plate
So lets begin with the tutorial now….
To make this one, I took a cardboard piece of size 7×8 inches and started pasting some scrap thin sheets of various colors card stocks….
most of these strips were like leftovers from my earlier projects.
After that I took the Victorian stencil by Craftyscrappers and used it on the panel along with Blush shimmer pasteand let it dry.
We can heat dry also these shimmer pastes with the help of heat tool in case want to fasten the process.
Once my paste dried,
I sprayed the shimmer paints on the paste…I still feel my picture is not justifying the real beauty of these sprays…
these sprays blends beautifully with the paste and cover desired surface.
I have used Bitter lemon and Ocean waves shimmer sprays.
Then I took a pattern sheet cut it first and then did hand tearing to make it look a little more designer.
Then i pasted it on the panel using Matt medium glue.
Next I used a lady stamp from Craftyscrappers ,
hand painted it giving it a tint of gold by using Inka gold and creating Indian gold thread weaved Saree,
I have often seen my mom wearing such Sarees but getting the feel on paper was real fun to try.
Once all done ,have fussy cut it and pasted on the panel as shown in the pictures below…
On the borders,I have used Washi tapeby Craftyscrappers…
this tape added much desired shiny border to my project.
Next I have used some stamps from “U Sparkle” which gave meaning to the whole project. The word “Arbee” is brand name and not any stamp.
This completes my project, Sharing some close upsof the work below:
