CARDS#1
Underwater Ocean scene!

20180317_110305.jpg

I created this card as a Belated Birthday card for my friend.
As she love sharks and movie “Jaws”, so I created a special card for her!

So i created my underwater Ocean scene using
You are so jaw-some stamp set for Craftyscrappers.
st-bd-30[youaresojawsome].jpg
I have to say they are freaking adorable!
And there are all sort of details that make them one of a kind,
great tiny elements and so much fun to color.

along with Craftyscrappers Premium white Cardstock

WHITE finalBLENDING.jpg

Which is a double-coated matt finish carstock, Ideal for stamping/Embossing/Distressing.
The cardstock is around 200gsm in thickness and have a Smooth surface allowing for blending while using markers or water colors.

Untitled-1.png

step1

I stamped the shark images on the Premium white CS from CS in jet black Archival ink and colored them with my copic markers and created a textures of tiny dots for more interest and dimension.

20180306_121147

step2

At the outer edges I gave a thin coat of lighter grey copic marker and fussy cut them. The white sheet is so smooth with Mat finish, love the results and enjoyed coloring my image with markers! You must have this awesome white CS to give it a try!!!

20180306_121152

step3

Then on white card base to create my underwater scene, I drew a big stone at the bottom with my pencil and stamped some ocean weeds, coral reef images and all tiny elements. Colored them with my copic markers again.
20180306_121212.jpg
20180306_124711.jpg
step4
cs-stnlm-14FADING.jpg
I left the top space blank and applied different DI -Tattered rose, Salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch using finger daubers to create an ocean scene. Then I blended some DI at the leftover blank space and flicked it with some water droplets.
20180306_130040.jpg
20180306_155512.jpg
Wow, love the amazing outcome, its look like real ocean edge and at the top most with different shades of blue hues!
step5

Created a speech banner with a cute sentiment holding by a jaw-some shark and created the whole scene!

20180317_110349.jpg

step6

I carried away the sentiment inside with Birthday wishes.
Stamped the Ocean waves using two shades of DI with a message bottle.
20180317_110502.jpg

I had so much fun making this card, I adore the ocean Pals.
You can create so many fun cards for different occasions using this one stamp set,
The possibilities are endless!

CARD#2
You are so Jaw-some
20180318_172220.jpg
Untitled-1.png
step1

Firstly I used my glittery paste leftover on the stencil from my last holi festival card, I keep that scrap sheet for my next creation and  I used it here!

20180306_182914.jpg

step2

I quickly placed my stencil on a white CS upside down and pressed firmly and used Ocean Waves Shimmer Spray through the stencil.

CS-SSP-02OCEANWAVES.jpg

(Important Tip:  Always try to use your products in an innovative style and never waste them!)

20180306_182905.jpg

step3

On a black card base I placed this stenciled panel and added a vellum sheet on it for the visible soft effect.

20180317_122053.jpg

step4

Using waves images from the You are so Jaw-some stamp set I stamped them in mermaid lagoon DI to create some ocean waves. Watercolored them using blueprint sketch and mermaid lagoon DI and fussy cut them. At the bottom panel, I added that ocean waved panel with  foam dots.

step5

Now time to stamp my shark images. I picked up two of the different images from the You are so Jaw-some stamp set. This time I heat embossed my images in Metallic Gold Sparkle EP. Using Soul eggplant and Ocean waves Shimmer spray colors from CS, I watercolored them, easily blended with water and added some tiny dots at the upper body part of the shark images. Added those googly eyes to look like more real! Adhered them with foam dots.

20180318_172232.jpg

step6

Added some sea foam waves on the white part of waves for more dimension using Snow Marker and heat embossed them!
Added a sentiment on a black strip in Metallic Gold Rich Pale EP and finished it off with some water dew drops blings!

Card 3

Have a FIN-Tastic day Friends
20180317_110607.jpg
Untitled-1.png
step1

Now for this card, once again I used my  Splash stencil as a background creator
cs-stnl-20[SPLASH].jpg
which I used in my second card. Before drying those DI, I quickly sprayed some water and placed my inked stencil upside down on a leftover piece of Premium white cardstock from Craftyscrappers.
Get the awesome monochrome marble effect of splashes, love it!!!
20180306_190220.jpg
By stamping these adorable shark images from You are so Jaw-some stamp set on a vellum sheet and heat embossed in opaque bright white EP, fussy cut them.

step2

Die cut some inverted scalloped frames included some from white foam sheet to give some dimensions to my layers.

For the sentiment I die cut Friend script out of a white foam sheet to make a good stack. Before I die cut my top layer, I added some sticky sheet to the paper. That way I added Sizzling Silver  foil from CS for the sentiment.

SIZZLING SILVER.png

20180306_205402.jpg

step3

I added  have a fin-tastic day sentiment from the same set in jet black.

MIXED MEDIA MULTI PAGE ART JOURNAL SPREAD & TAG
By DT Member

blog ender.png

Today I have a MIXED MEDIA page art journal spread and a tag to inspire you all for the current Craftyscrappers Challenge.

(MIXED MEDIA MULTI PAGE ART JOURNAL SPREAD)

ed1.jpg

ed2.jpg

A Brief tutorial
(
MIXED MEDIA MULTI PAGE ART JOURNAL SPREAD)

  • I took 4 card-stock from Craftyscrappers and tear it from middle just to make hole of different sizes, as you can see in image.
  • I started coloring from bottom page using Craftyscrappers shimmer sprays, for 1st layer I used “Rusty Denim” , For 2nd layer used “Sweet Sunshine”, for 3rd layer I used “Dancing Peacock
  • and for 4th layer I used texture paste and created texture using stencil called “Geometrical patterns” and after it dries completely I colored the page using “Juicy Watermelon“, “Sweet Sunshine”, and “Rusty Denim” from darker shade to lighter shade.
  • In this step I distressed the torn parts using “Greasy Charcoal” chalk paint, this way pages will have depth and I also stamped dotted pattern stamp around the torn area, for this I used “INSPIRE” stamp set, I follow this stamping process for all the 4 pages. (for reference have a look on final page)
  • Distress all the 4 pages using black ink and glue them together but instead of using foam tape, I used chipboard so that it will have dimensional look.
  • I stamped girl image from “Happy HOLI” Stamp set, Colored it using watercolor and fussy cut the image & place it on the page as if that girl is coming from colored layers (That’s what my concept was) To lift up the girl image I used 2 to 3 layers of chipboard behind it.
  • I also spread silver glitter behind the girl image and to the front page I spread just a little amount of “Tinted Gold” shimmer paste using palette knife to add shine and sparkly look,
  • After this I stamped the quote (saying) stamp image from “HOLI” Stamp set, Fussy cut that image and adhere on the page using double sided foam tape.
  • Later on this page added flat back gems randomly to have a elegant look, And Voila!!! our multi-page Art journal spread is complete.

(MIXED MEDIA TAG)

ed3.jpg

A Brief tutorial
(MIXED MEDIA TAG)

  • I took Packaging cardboard and made cut-out of tag of 5 inches by 3 inches and glue down broken brush head on it.
  • Then I paste metal butterfly just to hide broken part of brush and also added sea-shells, art stones and micro beads. (Seed beads, micro beads, art stone works as a filler and also
  • In this step I covered entire tag with gesso and after gesso dries completely.
  • I colored the tag using “Tasty Tortilla” and “Muddy Pool” shimmer sprays.
  • I used gesso again just to add highlight little bit, in this step I took very little amount of gesso on dry brush and apply so that dimensional elements get highlighted.
  • Distress the edges and then added Shimmer paste using pallet knife.
  • Stamped sayings from “INSPIRE” stamp set and finished this tag.

(YOU FILL MY DAYS WITH COLOR CARD)

ed1.jpg

A Brief tutorial
(YOU FILL MY DAYS WITH COLOR CARD)

  • I started with stamping some cute pichkari images from the Celebrate Holi Stamp set in Jet black Archival ink.
  • Colored these images using different Shimmer Sprays Sour eggplant, Ocean waves, Bitter lemon, Sweet pumpkin and one DI- candied apple and one Memento dye ink- Dandelion using water. Fussy cut them.
  • On a stitched textured white CS, at the top I carefully stamped the Splash image three times overlapping them from the Celebration Holi stamp set using Different DI and slightly spritzed it with water bottle. Love the faded dripping colorful result. Then once again I stamped those splashes using same DI for the good impact result.
  • Die cut a scalloped circle out of black CS and black foam sheet.
  • In the center I created my own sentiment using same stamp set again, this stamp set included so many cute text sentiments!
  • You Fill My Days With in jet black Archival ink and Colors in using different DI.
  • Now placed all the elements to create my colorful festive scene with fun using foam dots.
  • In the end, placed this panel on a colorful Plaid PP and adhered it on a white CS. And slightly applied some tinted gold SHIMMER PASTE for glittery impact with my brush for little sparkle.

STRETCHING THE STAMPS IN A CREATIVE WAY : A CARD & TAGS
By DT Member
blog ender.png

Today I have a fun and colorful project to inspire you all for the current Craftyscrappers Challenge.

I have tried stretching my stamps in a very extraordinary way.The stamp set was designed for Holi festival but now as the festival is over I was confused how to make something out of it and that’s where this technique of stretching the stamps clicked to me.

STRETCHING THE STAMPS IN A CREATIVE WAY : A CARD

ed1.jpg

ed2.jpg

ed3.jpg

A Brief tutorial

  • I have used the triangle geometric shape in the stamp set,”Celebrate Holi”  which was actually representing gulal(Holi Powdered color) on the stamp set to create my background first with Distress oxide inks in various colors.
  • After that I have used You die and made a diecut on the finished background.
  • Took that diecut out and replaced it with same white cardstock diecuts thrice,
  • lastly topped the original distress oxide inked  diecut.
  • The sentiment is from same stamp set, “Celebrate Holi“.
  • stamped with Black Archival ink.
  • Lastly attached Cup sequins to adorn the card.

MARCH DT KIT2018.jpg

In my March DT kit, I received some really awesome and one of a kind stencils,
To name a few, there was, Abstract patterns stencil, then Splash stencil, fading pattern mini stencil and Create-A-Flower(roses) stencil.

The Create-A-Flower(roses) stencil from Craftyscrappers offers a wide creativity options, they come with “elements” that you can use as masks and create stunning projects and the size of flowers are just perfect!!!
here’s how it looks:

Create-A-Flower(roses) stencil

cs-stnl-18[CREATEAFLOWER-ROSES].jpg

I was eager to try them out the Create-A-Flower(roses) stencil as the layered roses impact is very trendy and popular nowadays. It is a bit tricky and requires a lot of practice. But After some successful attempts I managed to get some pretty roses.
I decided to fussy cut and use the good ones to make a card.

So lets begin with our tutorial now….

But before I start, let me tell you our challenge for the month of MARCH is ongoing,

Okay so moving on to my tutorials now…

Card#1- Pretty Roses-Watercolor effect!

cs card1.jpg

Below is my take and trial methods I did.
I took  some clicks step wise to make it clear how to use them.
This is the direct impact of Create-A-Flower(Roses) stencil to make you the concept clear.
Untitled-1.png
step1.png
To begin with,I used heavy whisper white CS and the  Altenew inks in the tones of purple and green to achieve a good result. You can use any dye inks but it should be various shades of same color family. I started with light to darker shades.
You can use pigment inks too but I refer for the best result to use dye inks only.
cs step1.jpg
step2.png
Place the stencil step wise as shown in the pics.

cs step2.jpg
step3.png

There are 3 rose elements too for masking.
I placed one of them according to the given size and added those leaves.

cs step2.jpg

Here’s how the final cut pieces looks:

cs step4.jpg

In all I love this stencil set!
With little practice, roses were easy to align and love the final result after fussy cutting, so beautiful!
step4.png
Then i Die cut a scalloped circle frame 2 times out of white CS and a white foam sheet, made a stack. Now using my die,
I placed Abstract Pattern stencil on my white card base and applied dye ink.
cs-stnl-22[ABSTRACTPATTERNS].jpg
Now placed the stack of die cut scalloped circle
and added some splatters using Midnight magic shimmer spray for more interest and fun.
CS-SSP-06MIDNIGHTMAGIC.jpg
cs step5.jpg
The sentiment Hugs is a Pre die-cut from
Craftyscrapper Die cut set- “SMILE TOGETHER” in black
CS-DCS-07_585x768-800x800.jpg
and finished it with some enamel dots!
Here’s how the final card looks:

The inside view:

In case you have any query, I would be happy to help you out.

Card#2: Time 2 Explore-MIXED MEDIA TECHNIQUE

cs card2.jpg

This is a popular panel theme card in mixed media style. I never plan out for my cards. I just started with 3 panels out of a textured white CS.

Untitled-1.png

step1.png

Using CS clock and numbers stencil I applied 3 different Memento dye inks to create my wall clocks.

cs-stnlm-13.jpg

2ns2.jpg

Then added another layer of CS Damask stencil in soft green!
step2.png
I die cut some flowers and on a craft mat, sprayed those flowers with CS Shimmer Sprays Ocean waves and Sour eggplant, love the shimmery result.
2ns1.jpg

step3.png
The MDF fairy is gesso first and then highlighted with
 CS Shimmer paint Royal Baby.
2ns3.jpg

step4.png

Die cut some more different elements. The sentiment explore and number 2 die cut 3 times to make a good stack and on a top layer applied glossy accent for dimension. Now added all them to create the whole scene on a textured white card base. In the end added some shimmery splatters and applied gesso and shimmery paint to highlighted the flowers with more dimension.

Here is the end result.

Okay so Here are the projects which we are going to create Today:

PROJECT#1: Mixed Media altered MDF board

ins.jpg

Untitled-1.png

step1.png

I took 10 inch circle shaped MDF board, and prime it using gesso, but instead of using brush, i used palate knife to apply gesso, this way i have texture on the surface, it is the best way to create texture on any surface easily, this is how it looks :

1.jpg

step2.png

I used MDF photo frame with word LOVE and steampunk gears of different shapes & sizes, which are easily available online or any local craft store, and then glue them to form a random composition.

2.jpg

step3.png

After everything dries completely, i added resin Victorian frame and cute little angel cupid, i also added paper flowers, (don’t worry about the embellishment colors), at the end we are going to cover everything with gesso.. and as i always says use whatever you have in your stash, okay so moving on to rest tutorial.. 🙂

3.jpg

step4.png

Added micro beads, this is one of my favorite thing to add to any mixed media project, and later cover entire project with gesso.

4.jpg

This seems all confusing and hard but trust me guys once you start building layers and embellishment you will find it easier than ever.

step5

I started coloring using Craftyscrappers “Shimmer sprays” named Juicy watermelon and Sweet sunshine, after you finish the spraying before it gets dried just tilt the project little bit so this way both the color will flow & blend together..
these sprays are so amazing that it goes on any surface as you can see here,
Craftyscrappers Shimmer Sprays are available in 16 gorgeous colors to chose from.

5.jpg
after it dried completely i used “fixative spray” to seal that shine n color,
as these shimmer sprays are water based.

step6

Next I used gesso to highlight the texture and elements using dry brush technique,
here the base coat colors does not scattered because i have sealed the colors using fixative, as you can see here, how beautiful finish i got in this project…

7.jpg

step7

I painted the letter LOVE and cupid using Craftyscrappers (pearl finish) SHIMMER PAINTSDreamy Daffodils and (gold touch)SHIMMER PAINTS- Tasty Cranberries  and used black paint to give depth to the project.

HERE’S A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SHIMMER PAINTS AND THEIR EFFECT:

8.jpg

step8

Added pearls and painted them using Craftyscrappers (gold touch) shimmer paint-
Tasty cranberries” , also splattered this color a bit, and voila!!
this is final & glorious look of the finished Project.

PROJECT#2: Mixed Media TAGS

p1.jpg

A BRIEF TUTORIAL

  • I took two white cardstock tags 6 inches x 3 inches and using Craftyscrappers Damask stencil & texture paste created texture on both the tags..
This way i made background on both the tags.
  • Colored 1st tag using Craftyscrappers Shimmer Sprays- juicy watermelon and lushy orchid and 2nd tag using Craftyscrappers Shimmer Sprays- sweet sunshine and lushy orchid, while color is wet tilt both the tag little bit to run the color from texture I created earlier.

TAG#1

t1.jpg

  • Moving to 1st tag, i Stamped the image and sentiments from Craftyscrappers Everything magical stamp set and colored them
  • I took 2 smaller tags around 2.5 inches x 1 inch and place them randomly.
  • I also took corrugated cardboard to adhere behind stamped image,
(you can clearly see this step in the finished tag.)
  • After fuzzy cutting the image I adhere image on corrugated cardboard using double sided foam tape, and place different size n color paper flowers.
  • Once everything dries completely, used black watercolor to gave depth & after placing the sentiment I added maroon micro beads around the flower and distress the edges of tag using black ink pad… here we finished our first tag.

TAG#2

t2.jpg

  • For 2nd tag I used image from the Everything magical and sentiment from Adventure Awaits stamp set.
  • Took gears and colored them using turquoise blue acrylic paint and after it dries highlight them using craftyscrappers chalk paint “Zesty lilac”.
  • Placed them randomly to form a composition leaving one side of tag empty for corrugated cardboard.
  • I colored the stamped image and distress the edges of corrugated cardboard.
  • Place stamped image on corrugated cardboard using double side foam tape.
  • Added sentiment and silver micro beads in empty spaces.
  • I also distress the edges of tag little bit using black watercolor and this is how I finish 2nd tag as well.
