ELEGANT MIXED MEDIA CARD: a brief tutorial-By DT:ARPITA TORNAL

Hello my crafty friends!

 

Its me Arpita, creative designer @craftyscrappers and i am on the blog today,
with an inspirational post, where i will be Sharing with you all ,a very elegant.. Beautiful and a very simple to make,Mixed media card.

 

 

White and Gold is a very classy combination and so today have kept this card clean,simple and elegant.

To make this elegant card, i have used Craftyscrappers Beautiful stamp set, called…

FEATHERS

This “feathers” Stamp set, is very pretty and have some really nice coordinating sentiments. The peacock feathers dress itself is a masterpiece here and i had so much fun creating my card using this stamp set.

So here’s my Finished ELEGANT MIXED MEDIA CARD

 

 

 

A BRIEF TUTORIAL:

• The card base approximately measures 6.5 * 6 inches.
• to add some texture i used texture paste through  the leaf stencil and  colored it using gold wax.
• Next stamped the image on to a smaller panel using watermark ink pad and embossed the image using gold embossing powder,did the same with the feather image from the same stamp set and fussy cut them.
• Stuck a gold and white pattern paper on to the card base using foam tape and tore the paper in random places for the stencil work to show.
• then added the stamped panel again using some foam tape.
• added some cheese cloth which i coloured using some gold  butter choclate shimmer paint.
• and finally addded the fussy cut feathers and some seed beads.

GORGEOUS CARDS WITH ROTATING STENCIL TECHNIQUE: a brief tutorial!

This is Anushree and I am so glad to start my March month with beautiful supplies from Craftyscrappers which I got in my DT kit.
Today I have a very unique technique to showcase with Craftyscrappers Stencils.
The Technique is known as “Rotating Stencil Technique”.

 

But before I start, let me tell you our challenge for the month of MARCH is ongoing,

Challenge#21:” FESTIVAL OF COLORS”

You can create  Cards, layouts, a journal page, Canvases, interactive/3D cards,
mixed media, altered art…anything crafty,With the FESTIVAL COLORS in it!
(Don’t forget to add the touch of GOLD or SILVER to your creations!)

Okay so moving on to my tutorials…

I have made two lovely cards with this technique as my background.
Let me show you both cards with the material used and procedure involved.

 

CARD#1: Get Well Soon card
WITH ROTATING STENCIL TECHNIQUE

 

 

1. Take Green Card stock and fix Craftyscrappers Stencil(Geometrical Patterns)  on it with the help of any adhesive tapes.
2. Start Distressing the pattern with green ink,I have used the stencil vertically.
3. Move the stencil a little on its right after finishing the first distressing,start distressing again with Green ink.
4. Move the stencil a little more on right and now distress with white pigment ink.
5. Lastly move the stencil little bit left and cover the area with Craftyscrappers Tinted-Gold Shimmer paste.
6. I have stamped images from Craftyscrappers stamp set. “Feel better friend” on Craftyscrappers premium White Cardstock with the help of Archival ink.
7. I colored them and then Fussy cut it.
8. Lastly attached everything as shown with the help of double sided tape.

 

My background pattern is ready.

CARD#2: SHIMMERY FLORAL CARD
WITH ROTATING STENCIL TECHNIQUE

 

 

I have used the same rotating technique for this card as well.This time I kept the stencil(Geometrical patterns) horizontal and rotated 90 degrees’ and distressed with different ink.On one side of the card I attached Washi tape.

Then I took white card stock, With shimmer paste- SONOMA, LILAC and SPLASH I made the design on it and then fussy cut it after it dried.Pictures will make the procedure more clear.

Lastly I attached everything with double sided tape and embellished with some pollens and leaves from my stash.I have also used Enamel accents to make cute enamel dots.Since March month also relates to Exams for all kids so I wanted to send best wishes to all kids with this lovely colorful card.Sharing few more pictures of the card.

BEAUTIFUL CARDS USING CS NEW RELEASES: a brief tutorial/inspirations.

Okay so lets move on to my inspirations for you all for the challenge:

I just love the new fun BEEP-BEEP stamp set designed by Ronaldo Jacobs….

featuring some really cute,super cool Robot images and sayings offering plenty
of ways to use them for different occasions.
And they are perfect for a boy or girl or for any age cards as well as for Valentines!

A robot theme revives my inner geek and just make me smile.
So here are some inspiring ones for you to browse!

 Card #1

 

 

Love the shimmery touch on these cuties, visible so clearly,

A BRIEF TUTORIAL:

• To create my background, I have used the mini Hearts stencil and I applied texture paste and gave it a touch of  Baby blush pearl shimmer paint mixing with slight water randomly and at the edges too.
• Both of the robots and a cute tiny love bulb are stamped in Jet Black archival ink.
• For coloring I used (pearl-finish)Shimmer Paints: Creamy Cantaloupe and Baby’s blush and mixed it with my Zig markers color brushes and fussy cut them.
• I added a love bottle fully loaded with different glitters, sequins and hearts and tied it with a love bulb image.
• Added some Liquid glossy accents to the love perimeter, eyes and heart to finish the front of the images.
• Placed a tulle net in pink at the bottom of the card panel and adhered it with my mulberry flowers and pollen flowers.
• I slightly applied the  Shimmer Paint:  baby blush at the edges of rose flower petals too. 
• I added the sentiment on a black strips and heat embossed them in opaque bright white embossing powder and highlighted the word Glow with Magenta twinkle glitter embossing.
• To create more interest added some die cut gears in different shapes and colors and bling the centers too.

Card# 2

Can I just say I love this set!!!!
The images are so cute for words if you ask me!!! 

A BRIEF TUTORIAL:

• I used another robotic images from the same Beep-beep stamp set and water colored with my Steadtler pencils, fussy cut them. I do think the image and sentiment say it all so it ended up being a clean and simple shaker card. 
• I added a thin strip of the mini stencil: Rays, which is stenciled in different dye colors.
•  I die cut the the inverted scallop rectangles out of white foam sheet 3 times to move my shaker elements properly!
•  The sentiment is heat embossed in a blue strip. Added a few googly eyes, some clear tiny rhinestones, hearts, ringlets and there you have it!

BEAUTIFUL FUN-FOILED BACKGROUNDS:a video tutorial!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are doing good and that you had loads of fun this diwali… 🙂
Well, im sure you all had!!!

Here I’m back at Craftyscrappers blog today and this time I have a Video tutorial on how i created some beautiful,sparkly backgrounds for cards using craftyscrappers Fun foils, for our ongoing challenge, “Sparkle it up”!!!

This is the first time I’ve used foils in my cards and I really love the outcome…..
Craftyscrappers shiny transfer foils are professional grade and are proudly made in INDIA, and these super glitzy foils , add Stunning Sparkle and shine to your craft projects.
What stopped me till now was the investment in laminator machine for foiling….
But these fun foils are really fun to work with.
You don’t need any fancy tools for this.. and in my Video tutorial i will show how these can be easily used without a lamination machine and also work like a charm with Big shot and Cuttlebug machines, where you do not need heat to transfer the foils to your craft surfaces.
